Things I love for Fall

Brightly Colored Denim

This is not necessarily new for Fall, but I am happy to see the trend extending on to the upcoming season. These are some of my favorite colors from J Brand for 170.00, found on their website:

I feel that there are many excuses revolving around this trend, I cant believe that it is because people do not like these beautiful vibrant colors. It has to be because they do not know what to wear them with and are maybe afraid they will look foolish. That is a definite possibility, especially if you try and "match" them to something; however take a look at some of these successful uses of colored jeans paired with neutrals, instead of a neutral pant with a bright shirt, this is the exact opposite and a lot more interesting to look at:

Although J Brand is probably the best option for this look due to fit and quality, there are two big issues here. 1- will you wear it enough to justify spending 170.00 for one pair? they are not traditional jeans and you make tire of the color after awhile 2- these colors are so much fun that you need a few pairs, just one cannot possibly do.

Well, to tell you the truth, I have a few pairs of brightly colored pants and I bought them from Delias (44.50 buy one get one free) and Zara (49.99). I think they fit really well actually:

Zara: I have the blue on the right, they are pants and not jeans, but probably the best fitting pants I own. I tried to order them online in more colors but Zara hates Americans and wont let us order online. All the other countries seem to be able to.

Delias: I have the Turquiose and Coral:

Or I recently noticed that the Gap has some on sale 50% off orginally 70.00, but they already ran out of the green, this is what is left for now at least online that is

Urban Outfitters has a vibrant shade of green for 58.00, but in my experience these BDG do not stand up in the wash very well for 58.00 :(

Also, color-blocking is always a possibility and still a favorite of mine that I will not easily give up anytime soon. We have seen alot of color blocking lately, the same Gucci outfits everyone is wearing, but here are some non-gucci examples not all pants but nonetheless:

So while we are on the subject of colored jeans, my number one coveted color for fall is not a bright color at all it is in fact camel, like these camel J Brand jeans below:

The possibilites of Camel are truly limitless and I am absolutely loving it with black and white. Here are some looks from shopbop's look book. Simple but sophisticated, these looks can be achieved by anyone at any price (okay except for that tribal print mini skirt which is naturally sold out).

I would also add the following items into the mix:

Halston Heritage dress 117.00 at the outnet

Top Shop $36.00

Top Shop:

BCBG 158.00

Top Shop 36.00 (on the way in the mail right nowA Coral Jacket, specifically this one from Top Shop that sold out as soon as it became available. However, I am checking back every day to see if they re-stock it and I am considering calling the NYC store to inquire on it's availbility, but calling places on the phone makes me anxious

Now, keep in mind I have wanted this jacket for about 2 months and they only had it a size that was 2 sizes too big. If that were frustrating enough, found some pics of up Gossip Girl filming and you can imagine how outraged was to have missed out on this jacket when I saw the following:

Amazing as always with a green bag even!!! That bag is Louis Vitton (I think) and I will not purchasing for obvious reasons, but I can afford a Coach bag and I found the perfect one. So now you see how much I NEED this Coral jacket!

Fortunately for me, I had enough intuition to purchase this BCBG Maxi skirt long before...

This photo came out and no such similar skirts would be available ever again.

Now for shoes, there are so far two pairs I am loving from Sam Endelman, the first very unlike me at it is basically a loafer, which I dont even like the word. However, these have really attracted me and I can actually see myself in them. They are 250.00 and I have a feeling they will go on sale soon because I am not sure they have any mass appeal The second pair also Sam Endelman are also 250.00

And last for now, Kimonos. There are basically two out there which are uncomparable to any others and unfortunately pretty expensive :(

Free People: (on their website, however, made by an Australian company) for 368.00

Then of course we have one from Haute Hippie, for $695.00:

Oh and wait! I almost forgot about Tibi! As usual I love everything from Tibi

que ferait-elle porter?

Although I still have an infinite number of things to do this weekend, I really needed a break. I decided to browse one of my favorite websites, The Outnet. Which I just realized today after all this time they are replacing "net" with "let", oh well I cant always be the smartest.

Anyhow, I found many Serena inspired items. Just because this is an "Outnet"doesnt make the items cheap but there are still some good deals to be had

Burberry Prorsum, $790.00:

I really don't think it gets more Serena than this dress, in fact, I cant fathom as to why we have not seen her in this actual dress. Since it is no longer available in my size, I just saved myself $800.00- fortunately or unfortunately? Well it is probably fortunate because I am fairly certain that if I found a plain dress in this shape and fabric, I could easily create my own DIY version. Needless to say the first look is still not really a "good deal" for most people
.

Temperley London: 966.00

In Paris, we saw Serena in some bright colors, like those amazing Suno pink pants and long green Haute Hippie dress. I could also see her wearing this in the Hamptons.

Temperley London: 328.00 (marked down from 1095)

Studded detailing always grabs my eye, this jacket looks amazing on over a dress as pictured on the website also with leggings or skinny jeans. The price is not bad perhaps it will make it on my excel spread sheet for possible purchase.
See by Chloe 142.00:
We have seen Serena in this color once before, and this neckline always

Rebecca Talyor 118.00:

Very good price on this silk tank dress especially considering that it was marked down from 395.00. The beaded fringe reminds me of a Chelsea Flower vest that Serena wore last season and I could easily see her also wearing this dress.

Poleci 112.00:
Serena wears a romper every now and then and I think this one is very classy. I have been searching for probably a year now for the most perfect and sophisticated jumper/romper/playsuit and this may actually be the one . It was marked down from 375.00 and I think it would be close to impossible to find one in silk for a better price.

See by Chloe 168.00

You simply cannot go wrong with a studded dress, I am sure Serena would pair this with a blazer and an ankle boot.

Sara Berman $320.00:

Serena has without a doubt, the best collection of leather jackets- probably in the world. This one pictured below reminds me of her because it is fitted and has studded detailing along the front seam and around the wrists. I think it is a fair price for a leather jacket, however, if it doesnt feel like my leather jacket from Florence I would have to return it because now I am spoiled.
Sachin and Babi, Chiara dress, 200.00 (shopbop):

I completely love this dress from Shopbop.com (I browsed that website as well today). I have not seen anything quite like it before. It may be difficult to see in the picture, but it has a light Tye- dye print all over, and what I like most is the deconstructed look of the dress, the more I think about it, the more I am realizing that I will need to add this to the spreadsheet ASAP.

Missoni 459.00

Serena wears Missoni now and then, and this skirt is perfect for her! I can see it with either a silk tee or a denim (nanette lepore style) or off white blazer. It is not the most affordable skirt but was originally 3 times the price indicated.

Paul and Joe Sister $54.00:

Serena loves a vest, because of her --I own two vests. She would pull this off wonderfully over a dress or skinny jeans. However, I fear that I would look ridiculous in this, for only $54.00 I would normally go for it, but I am just unsure.

Haute Hippie Ombre sequin dress, $209.00:

In the last episode last seen before the excruciatingly long hiatus we are currently enduring, Serena wore a Haute Hippie mini skirt. This is like the affordable dress version of that skirt. By the way that outfit below is impeccable !
Malene Birger Sequin mini dress, $192.00

It goes without saying, we have seen some version of this look on Serena on many occasions, short sparkly and topped with a blazer.
Alice by Temperley Studded Vest $148.00:

I bet that Eric Daman is mad that he didnt find this vest for the show, this is more Serena than the similar vests they have dressed her in on past episodes.

Alice and Olivia, Shopbop, $557.20

We all remember Serena's strong shoulder metallic Pucci jacket with the blue Tibi pants from the Paris episodes, which was of course amazing. I think she would like this jacket equally if not more, maybe not with blue pants but something equally as fabulous.

Alexander Wang, 238.00

This is a very classic dress at really a great price considering it is Alexander Wang. Serena has worn a similar version when needing to look professional, until she decided to just screw it and wear a one shoulder or backless dress instead.
Herve Leger, between $648.00 and $720.00
Skirt 288.00

Both Serena and Blair have worn Herve Leger on the show and I think is it really flattering and versatile on everyone. Below are some looks that remind me of Serena.

I hope one day to have a Herve Leger piece, it will probably a skirt and not a dress considering the price but who knows I might get lucky one day.

Vena Cava, Shopbop, $409.50

Serena and Blake herself, frequently wear Vena Cava, I am also surprised we have not seen her in this dress yet this season. Maybe it is not short enough? Well I love it and there's only a few left!
